If there is something that characterizes La Savina is the constant traffic of boats: passenger ships that bring and take tourists and natives, little and big fishing boats and, in the summer, an amazing number of pleasure boats commanded by people who decide to spend their summer time at the sea, traveling the Mediterranean coasts.
The evolution of tourism has prompted an evolution of the harbor at the same time; what started being a berth for a few fishing boats, is nowadays a harbor that shelters a big number of boats, especially during summer time. For the same reason the urban center of La Savina has grown exponentially: there are now a great number of bars, restaurants and little stores surrounding the seafront, giving life and color to the little harbor of Formentera.
